March 30 To Know Or To Say Know Can Change Perspective.

Mark Queen • Mar 29, 2024

Can you exercise your mind by saying yes and no?

When you think you know, the answer could really be no you don’t. As entrepreneurs, we build teams, coordinate our resources, and build systems. We do so to deliver value for our customers. Those systems and teams are going to be challenged by extreme situations though.

Instead of an ownership transition taking place over a five-year period, it might take place over five days. A piece of technology could be developed to help the world more efficiently and cost effectively and it might result in your company value being cut in half.

Someone could decide to sell a product to keep the long-term average price up. That decision could force your business to layoff half of its team if the product price plummets afterwards. Where are we the most comfortable today?

That just might be the very place that is about to be challenged tomorrow. What strategy do you have in place today to deal with changes? Do you have people outside of your company you can count on to come to your aid? Or will you ignore even thinking today about this question?

If so, that might be one of your biggest obstacles to your success and amazing growth of the future. What is the first thing you can do to challenge your perspective?

The story of the disciple Peter, denying Christ three times is a commonly known story as it is part of the Easter journey. But roosters are a common thing as well. Roosters pretty much do the same thing around the world.

They crow with their unique sounds and even children can recognize what they are, regardless of their country of origin or language they speak. Cock a doodle dooooo-you probably read these words and made the real sound in your head.

Reflect on what you think Peter’s attitude and comfort level was on the day before Jesus held the last supper and was taken away? Do you think that he might have felt fairly comfortable? He had left his old life to walk the earth with Christ, the Messiah. He watched him perform miracles.

Jesus had told Peter that he would do miracles and he had been sent out to the world in mission trips to do exactly that. He had been in conferences with Christ. He even watched people be raised from the dead. Would you feel that you were in a very good place in your life if you were Peter?

And then BAM, the world changed. The end of the beginning was happening, and the world was about to be changed. Everything that Peter was living: the team, its leader, their systems, their message, their perspective and value proposition was about to be changed.

And he denied having anything to do with it. Where are you comfortable in your walk with Christ? Are you ready to accept the changes in your life and make the best of it? What is changing today that you can take a different perspective on?

Cock a doodle dooo, it is time for another perspective change. What is the first thing you can do in the next seven days to make a smoother transition?

Let us pray, Jesus, you are the most talked about human being that has ever existed on the earth. You are the son of God, the Messiah, the Savior of those that accept you as sent from God himself. I choose to accept that you are my personal Savior.

I have changed my life and my perspective because of you. Walk with me today and help me to remember that my first reaction to change, might be the one of my former life. It was a life prior to knowing and loving you. I want a perspective of us, the two of us.

Open my eyes to look at changes and what they mean to me and my Savior. Help us to know you, not to deny you or say no you. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen
