May 30. Rrrrrrrr. Add The R This Week.
Often times we need to add one element to overcome a challenge.

As a leader, we face many challenges and coordinate many resources. But often the difference between bad to great can be a very small difference. Often it might be just one more resource. Where have you added one extra resource to a project that made the difference of success for you?
For me, it has been a little more focus at times, while at others it has been just another person’s words. At other times, it has been another person’s talents or skills. At other times it has been someone else's life lesson that I have learned from. What is it that is the most important project you are working on right now?
If you were to add one more resource this week, what is the one extra resource you have or can acquire which just might be the resource to enhance the project? Perhaps our best focus is to find that one resource that would accelerate, enhance, or provide value that we are missing now. What is the first thing you can do about it in the next seven days?
As brothers and sisters in Christ, we have the opportunity to make a difference. That difference can be a catalyst for someone else's growth. It might be that we could be part of a healing process for another physically or mentally.
As a possible resource, we can remember that we do not have to be something huge that makes a difference in someone’s life. Even small things change things, like the letter "r" for example. In Psalms 119:113 we read, "Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil."
The Psalmist is saying that adding the "word" to our lives makes a difference. It is a resource. It is like adding to that which we already have. Consider how we can add the "r" to our life. Do you have something you would like to overcome?
That might mean that something is in front of you as a project whether good or bad. Focusing on the project and handling the project is adding the “r”. We become an overcome"r" when we do this. Where might you need a resource this week? Where is it that you might be the resource for someone else this week?
Go ahead, I dare you, be the "r" this week and contribute to help someone. Be an overcomer instead of overcome. Can you begin by being a focuser on the opportunity? What is the first thing you can do about it in the next seven days?
Let us pray, Jesus, you are the great overcomer. You showed us how to overcome death and give us eternal life. You guide us along our path, but we often lack the resources we need in this world. Help us to look to you and to each other as the body of your church for the resources we need.
May the talents and gifts that you have blessed us with be the resources others might use to draw nearer to you. May the honor and the glory of the Fathers name be known. May you send the Holy Spirit now to assist us as we become the resource you have called us to be this week. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen,
