March 1. Subtle Changes Can Have Dramatic Results.

Flying just 1 degree off course will make a difference.

In our businesses and organizations, we have team members, employees, and customers to be in relationship with. When others need something of value in their lives, we need to be able to look at the small and large changes that might make it easier to deliver value to them.

The people that are willing to grow the most are the ones that need us to be of value in a new way. Those people might include our friends and families that are growing and developing as well.

If we are stuck, delivering the same things as when they were new to us, it is likely that they will need or want us to grow also. When we get stuck, our value will decrease to them and our relationship will decrease as well.

We need to grow ourselves and that requires us to leave some of the old behind and to acquire new habits. What might you need to leave behind? Are we growing and changing to serve others with a better value?

Because of our potential to serve so many others, including team members and employees, it is critical to make the changes needed for a bigger future. Sometimes the changes will be very subtle but subtle changes will indeed change things.

What do you think your employees and team might need from you at this point? What will they need tomorrow? What is it that you can do to lead the change in yourself to make it happen? What is it that you can do about it right now in the next seven days?

In the Bible there is a passage in the book of Mark 10:52 about Jesus healing a blind beggar. The beggar was calling out on the road and Jesus was passing by. This is not the only blind man that Jesus ever healed.

What is different though about this healing is that it did not require anything but Jesus to command that the person was to be healed. No laying on of hands that we are told about. No spittle or mud for this healing, just words.

Although several blind people are spoken about being healed in the Bible they were healed in different ways. Jesu s healed in different ways. He changed his methods, and he was a great example to us. How might we venture out into the world and be willing to change as well.

If Jesus changed his ways, showing that there is more than one option to address personal challenges and issues, it might be a great example for us to follow. When we continue to expect others to change, perhaps the change we need to explore is the one in ourselves.

What recurring issue continues to come around again and again in your life? I am curious. What could be a small change you could implement in the next seven days?

Let us pray, Heavenly Father, change is difficult for us. But you have changed the world again and again. Regardless of the changes we experience, you have given us Christ and the Holy Spirit. They have not changed.

They remain a constant in our lives, but we are the ones that wind up moving away from you. When we move away, give us insight to know that we need to be changed. May we help one another in a loving way to recognize how we might be able to draw nearer to you.

Bless us as we begin to change. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen,
