Exit Strategies: Knowing When to Step Away

Opening Question:
How do we know when it’s time to leave a business, partnership, or role—especially when values are at stake?

Faith-Based Guidelines for Exit Strategies

1. Discernment Before Decision
“If any of you lacks wisdom, ask God.” ~ James 1:5

  • Solution: Pray for clarity. Don’t rush. Seek wise counsel.

2. Integrity Over Attachment
“Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues with injustice.” ~ Proverbs 16:8

  • Solution: If staying means compromising your values, it may be time to go.

3. Peace as a Compass
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.” ~ Colossians 3:15

  • Solution: If peace is gone and conflict persists, consider a faithful exit.

4. Leave with Grace
“As far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” ~ Romans 12:18

  • Solution: Exit respectfully. Don’t burn bridge; build boundaries.

5. Trust God with the Next Step
“I know the plans I have for you.” ~ Jeremiah 29:11

  • Solution: Walking away isn’t failure. It’s faith in motion.
