August 18. Are The Trumpets Out Of Tune?
Imagine multiple instruments out of tune.

As a leader of a team, we know that we have a value proposition. I liken that proposition to the melody of a beautiful piece of music. But as leader, you are the conductor. There are many instruments in your organization. Those instruments of your team: accounting, marketing, and the IT department are like the trumpet, the violin and the drum of the orchestra.
You direct all the instruments and listen for anyone of them to be flat, sharp and with the beat. When they are off, it is our role to be in relationship with them to bring them back to the melody, be crystal clear, and on the beat. We want them to be clear of any barriers which keep them from being part of the beauty of the melody.
Where do you the leader need to work with others to gain that clarity? Your melody is at risk when they go sharp or flat. Being accountable as the leader means we need to have those talks when others are out of tune. What is the first thing that you can do about it in the next seven days?
Christ offers us the most beautiful melody by which to lead our lives. But as we interact with this world and those that are lost, we need clarity. If your notes as part of Christ's melody are not clear, the message might not make it to the lost. Are you tuning your instrument, yourself, on a regular basis?
Are you in worship, are you studying the word, and are you asking for and giving forgiveness in your daily walk? Going flat or sharp is certainly going to happen and that will move us from the melody. "Even lifeless instruments like the flute or the harp must play the notes clearly, or no one will recognize the melody." 1 Corinthians 14:7 NLT.
Our Savior has given us the ability to join the melody regardless of how out of tune we think we are. Where might you need to fix your tone whether sharp or flat? To be accountable to move the tuner is our role. Jesus wants you in the melody. What is the first thing that you can do about it in
the next seven days?
Let us pray, Heavenly Father, you make the whole earth your orchestra and we thank you for that. May the birds sing today with all of nature. May we join your beautiful melody with our hearts and minds. And as we do, may we play our part in tune with you so that others may hear with clarity your call to life with you.
Guide us Mighty Conductor, make us your vessels today. Encourage us as we hone ourselves to be part of the melody. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen,
