Have you ever dreamed of going to Alaska?

NOW MAY BE YOUR CHANCE!

Mark and Kayla Queen of Core Score have once again started our wilderness adventures.  These trips happen normally every other year but Covid had interupted the schedule.  But now we are heading out this August and are inviting up to six others to join us.  So what are the possibilities of this adventure?

Flights should be planned to leave on or before the 9th of August. Overnight in Anchorage, Alaska. Then leave at 6 am to get to Kodiak on the 10th. Some members will be able, if choosen, to immediately load up for a bear viewing trip on a float plane to Mount Katmai or Kodiak depending on whats sold out by the time we book. We plan to depart Alaska on the 17th and be back home likely on the 17th or Sunday the 18th  depending on how you choose to travel home.

We will be looking to book a VRBO to house everyone together.  We have our eyes set on booking a large home with 5-7 bedrooms. Comfortably fit all 8 folks.

What's available that we have made arrangements for? You are about to read some choices.  You don't have to do any but we will have to know to reserve the options.  There is no wait and see option as all options will fill up.  August is the biggest travel month to the island.  We have till next Friday to make our intentions clear and send deposits, which are half the costs.

Bear viewing for a half day. Two options. A. Katmai Mountain. Incredible scenery, fly (a hour or so) out of Kodiak, over to Katmai, view the volcanoes, the glaciers and land. Land walking tour(up to 5 miles of walking including through some streams-they provide waders). Watch groups of bears including big Males. There is no hunting on Katmia so you see the big males, sows and cubs. Option b. Kodiak trip. Fly over the entire island for the views, land. Go and sit on the river where the salmon come in and watch the bears come attack the fish. Lots of Sows and cubs, hunting is allowed on Kodiak so don’t expect to see the biggest male ever. Both trips are half day, take the same amount of time and are available on the 10th and the 12th. These fill quickly. No guarantees to go unless you commit. $950 plus gratuity per person.

River expedition up to Saltery River for Salmon. This trip takes you about 1-2 hours depending on trail conditions in a 6 seater ATV. Eventually you wind up at the river where the salmon have congregated. Fish to possibly limit out. Bears come here to fish as well. We respect the bears but they are there for the fish. When they come in, you leave and watch bears. Mark has done this $550 per person.  The Salmon you catch is whatever have moved up the river.  Pinks, Silvers, Kings all occur at different times.

Fishing with Captain Eric. We will charter the entire boat for the day. No other fisherman on board exept our party. Probably limit the people to four per day to maximize the space, fun and fish. It’s common to limit out on the main species of Halibut, Silvers, Reds, King Salmon, Cod and Rock fish. Each person can plan to take home 25lbs. of fillets per day of fishing. Last year we(6) fished four days and everyone brought home 100 pounds. That’s a lot of fish. We are thinking a maximum of 3 days of fishing and under the assumption that not everyone wants to fish all three days. 50 pounds of fish is a lot. The boat will run us about $2,700 a day.

Clients will book the trip and pay through Core Score so that we can do some business coaching during the trip.  You will book your own travel to and from so you can drive, sail, trail, bus or fly.  It doesn't matter to us but we are excited to see you there.

We must have indications by Friday at 5:00 pm on Friday 23rd.  That means we need the names of who is attending, and which options you want to participate in.  We will call Friday night to let our vendors know our count and confirm our financial obligations.  The housing cost will likely be in the $100 per night per person.  Meals, shuttles or rental cars if needed are not included.

Reach out to Mark with questions on the cell.  God bless and happy planning.  Hope to see you in Alaska.

Be Strong and Courageous,
